Basically, Merilee took a house that was falling down and turned it into a beautiful, marketable home. Which, by the way, sold in one day for the price I was asking. Merilee kept me informed every single step of the way with pictures and videos of all the progress she was overseeing. Throughout the entire process, she thoroughly discussed in great detail everything that needed to be done, keeping me informed and providing estimates for my approval before any work started. But most importantly, she kept me sane and she kept me laughing. This was the single, most overwhelming situation I had ever been in. I had no idea how or where to begin. I found myself in an almost impossible situation to navigate through. I live in New York and inherited a house in Maryland from my father. My father had tenants renting his property. These tenants would or would not pay rent when they felt like it. They were not keeping the house up to state safety codes. I had heard they were hoarders and they were ruining the property. Merilee, being so compassionate and understanding of the fact that I was living out of town and that this was a true hardship for me, assured me I wasn't going to go through this alone. She had my back, 100%. We even managed to get in some good laughs along the way. Last week I had to go to court to evict the tenants. Not only did Merilee get me to the court in plenty of time, but she also stayed with me throughout the entire court proceeding. She helped me make the best choices with the lawyer she had introduced me to. We won the case, and once the tenants evict, Merilee and I are actually looking forward to renovating the property together. She knows people for the job. Of course, she does she's Merilee! I honestly have to say, from the bottom of my heart, I have never been more grateful to anyone. I trust her sound judgment and advice completely. She made such a difficult process so easy for me. And we even wound up having a lot of fun. I know I could not possibly have gone through this and survived without her. The saga will continue, once we get the house marketable for sale or rent.
